de-news.net was established by Thorsten Koch, MA, PgDip. A journalist since 1995, Koch has made a career in, successively, the fields of regional, IT, financial and economic, as well as political reporting.
Besides, Koch is an NGO Manager, and he served, among other roles, as a Senior Expert on Mauritania for Amnesty International. Since 2017, he has engaged in the field of soft counter-extremism. In this capacity, Koch has also founded the non-profit Policyinstitute.net which emphasizes soft counter-extremism, ways to counter hate, highlights strategy as well as capacity building concerning the Sahel region.
