As an overarching media venture, de-news.net was launched by Thorsten Koch, MA, PgDip, a seasoned journalist and policy expert, in 2020. Koch has been engaged in journalism since 1995, building a career across several domains spanning regional reporting, research, information technology (IT), finance/economy, as well as political affairs. Notably, he served as a Senior Expert on Mauritania for Amnesty International, and has in recent years been treating the topic of soft security. In this capacity, he also established the non-profit think tank Policyinstitute.net.
